Need Analysis

Education serves as the primary catalyst for empowering women, providing them with the essential knowledge, vocational skills, and self-reliance needed for independence and confidence. The East Kalyan Welfare Society's Model College of Science & Commerce, Kalyan East is dedicated to fostering gender equity and sensitivity. By actively identifying and eliminating discriminatory barriers, the college ensures full participation for all students. The Women Development Cell (WDC) plays a pivotal role in maintaining a gender-neutral campus and providing vital counseling for adolescents navigating peer pressure and social challenges.

Context and Challenges

In many traditional social structures, a lack of education has historically left women vulnerable to exploitation and bias. Gender inequality often stems from deep-seated social convictions regarding gender hierarchy. Our empowerment initiatives aim to dismantle these biases by inculcating moral responsibility and gender sensitivity in every student. To address these challenges, the college has bolstered its Women Development Cell to ensure that female students are not only educated but also mentored and protected.

E-Samarth portal

Filling of examination forms, revaluation forms, photocopy forms, obtaining hall tickets, receiving of examination papers, uploading of marks, etc, everything has to be done in online manner. Utmost secrecy and confidentiality needs to be maintained while handling examinations and work needs to be done utmost care and caution under MKCL PORTAL & E-SAMARTH PORTAL of University of Mumbai. The lower level examination and result software is done by E-GOVERNANCE & E-SAMARTH.

Koha Library Software

We have the privilege of having well stocked Library. To continue with this legacy, we need to add more and more e-learning resources for the benefit of the teachers and students such as eBooks and External Libraries. Library is presently using (KOHA) software for its internal working so as to utilize the library resources effectively. Similarly, newer e-learning resources like journals, etc. should be identified and subscribed taking into account the recommendations of the respective Coordinators of every department. Recommendations of Principal & teachers are taken into account while subscribing to these resources.
